WRITE, look, paint, surprise depression away!
Write about your paintings and your feelings as you achieved (or acquired) them.
2. Many a depression has been lifted and entirely cured by writing.
3.If you are painting your thoughts, dreams, themes, there is a great deal to describe. There are emotions and reasons for those emotions; either people or places or circumstances. Perhaps an ambition has turned to failure.
4. Honestly painting these feelings into colours, shapes patterns, then putting them into words will give that work force and strength. You may also have helped to exorcise any blackness lurking within.
5. Or you have fallen in love and the fear of happiness or loss is palpable - and paintable. Without that theme poetry would be the poorer! Or the joy of a child, a football match, a summers day; all can come out on canvas or paper.
6. Those who see such paintings will feel as you felt. They will touch a subconscious that understands, empathises and needs that painting for comfort or pleasure without truly knowing the reason, but the appreciation is tangible.
7. Your writing will be the proof of your sincerity - and the provenance of your work,
8. When you have an idea for a painting, say it in words: the colours patterns shapes that make the subject and the thoughts behind all you are envisaging.
9. Then write about the thoughts, fears, difficulties and the triumphs that happen during creating or discovering.
10 Appreciating art can be greater for having the knowledge and insights of the work
